Four campsites are listed in the Vienne, two of them with verified off-season opening: Le Futuriste, opposite Futuroscope, and Camping du Mouchet, near Chauvigny. The other two are seasonal addresses, open from spring to autumn.
In Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux, about 10 km from Poitiers, Le Futuriste publishes rates for its chalets and mobile homes in every month of the year, including January to March. Pitches have no rate displayed from 1 January to 6 February or from 10 to 31 March. The washrooms are heated in winter and the covered pool, heated to 30 °C, stays open until 1 November. The bar-restaurant, however, only operates from July to September, and a bread pick-up point runs all year round. Exact dates should be confirmed with reception.
In Chapelle-Viviers, Camping du Mouchet, a three-star site with 40 pitches and mobile homes, is advertised on its website as open all year round, with no closing date. Heating in the rentals is not specified and bed linen is not provided: ask before booking. There is no pool or restaurant on site.
The municipal campsite de l’Allochon in Montmorillon is open from 15 March to 15 October, with a heated covered pool. Le Serbon in Saint-Secondin welcomes guests from 1 April to 30 October; only its motorhome service area operates all year round.
Specify the option: rental, pitch or motorhome. Confirm the dates for January and February, when Le Futuriste’s pitches have no rate, as well as the heating of the accommodation, then book early for Futuroscope weekends.
From Chapelle-Viviers, the paths along the banks of the Vienne can be walked on foot and the Mouchet pond, known to carp anglers, can be circled all year round. Civaux, 6 km away, brings together a Merovingian necropolis, an archaeological museum and the Abyssea water complex. Chauvigny and its rail bikes are 12 km away, the Unesco-listed abbey of Saint-Savin 16 km, and Montmorillon is home to the Cité de l’Écrit.
Near Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux, Le Futuriste’s reception sells Futuroscope tickets, and the view looks onto the park. Poitiers is 10 km away, and the Domaine du Bois aux Daims offers a pool, treetop adventure course and cycle path. Further afield from Le Mouchet, the Pinail nature reserve is 34 km away and the Roc-aux-Sorciers in Angles-sur-l’Anglin 35 km; the Vallée des singes is 30 minutes from Le Serbon. Check the opening hours of each site in the low season.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
