Fifteen campsites with direct beach access are listed on the portal, of which 9 have verified off-season opening. The criterion concerns distance to the sea, not the calendar: a campsite right on the water can close in November. In the low season the beach remains accessible, but services become scarce, and only a few sites really take winter guests. The others are spring, summer and autumn addresses.
The Domaine de Riva Bella, in Linguizzetta in Haute-Corse, runs along a sandy beach reached without crossing a road. Its accommodation stays open all year, while the restaurant and the 500 m² thalassotherapy centre run a reduced service, Friday to Monday, from early February to early April and from November to 20 December. Huttopia Arcachon rents heated chalets and wooden caravans twelve months a year, a ten-minute walk from the Ville d’Hiver. On the Mediterranean coast, the Mas des Lavandes in Sérignan is open all year and keeps its kids’ clubs for Easter and All Saints; the beach at Valras-Plage is a 15-minute walk away. Santa Gusta, in La Ciotat, opens pitches and heated furnished rentals every day, with the bay and the calanques a step away.
Around the Étang de Berre, two campsites open all year: Marina Plage in Vitrolles, with 340 air-conditioned mobile homes and a private beach on the lagoon, and Neptune in Saint-Mitre-les-Remparts, a short walk from Massane beach. In the Camargue, La Brise de Camargue offers direct access to the beaches of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, but closes from 14 November to 17 December, then from 4 January to about 5 February, according to the 2026 calendar.
In the Cotentin, La Ferme du Bord de Mer in Gatteville-le-Phare keeps its hardstanding pitches open all year, while the full campsite runs from April to October; on Oléron, Le Dauphin closes from November to March but keeps its motorhome area. Five campsites are seasonal: la Cavée Verte in Ault, La Sirène in Leucate, Les Garennes in Hauteville-sur-Mer, Les Hameaux des Marines in Saint-Denis-d’Oléron and the Panorama du Rohou in Ploubazlanec. Les Dauphins, in Montmartin-sur-Mer, declare an opening that we have not confirmed.
First check the real distance, as the beach is sometimes 200 m or a 15-minute walk away. Then ask for the pool and restaurant dates, the heating of the accommodation and the reception hours in winter.
Out of season, the beach is enjoyed differently. In the Val de Saire, the GR223 runs past La Ferme du Bord de Mer and the coast can be walked from the campsite. At Boyardville, the motorhome area at Le Dauphin gives access to cycle paths, salt marshes, the oyster-farming site of Fort Royer and shore fishing at low tide.
In the Camargue, flamingos are watched by bike or on foot. At La Ciotat, the Eden cinema and the calanques of Cassis can be visited whatever the season, and the medieval village of La Cadière-d’Azur is close by. From Neptune, the Le Palace cinema in Martigues and the indoor play park Royal Kids (ages 0 to 12) offer a solution on bad-weather days. At Arcachon, you explore the Ville d’Hiver and the harbour on foot, then the forests for mushroom picking in autumn.
On the Corsican side, at Riva Bella, the hiking trails and the llama park stay open all year, and the fitness room runs from early February to 20 December.
