Camping Santa Gusta is located in Fontsainte, a district on the way out of La Ciotat towards Toulon, on the sea side (RD 559). The campsite, rated 2 stars, has 129 pitches, of which 123 for caravans and motorhomes and 6 for tents, and opens directly onto the bay of La Ciotat. Reception, pitches and washrooms are listed as accessible to people with disabilities.
The Place de Fontsainte, 200 m to the west, has a grocery, fruit and vegetables, a bakery, a butcher, a pharmacy and a delicatessen, as well as a bus stop for the station and the town centre. 200 m to the east is an Aldi supermarket. The Santa Maria restaurant, with its private beach area, is very close, and regional line 354 stops about 4 minutes’ walk away.
The campsite also offers furnished tourist rentals, presented on the website under the heading Motel: studios, bungalows, rooms and two-room apartments for 2 to 6 people, spread across the campsite and an annexe on the seafront. According to the tourist offices of La Ciotat and the region, the establishment is open every day all year round in 2026, with no annual closure indicated.
This continuous opening applies both to the pitches, priced by the night, and to the rentals, which are equipped with heating and reversible air conditioning. The website also mentions weekend packages and long stays.
Bay and calanques of La Ciotat, Eden cinema, calanques of Cassis, medieval village of La Cadière-d’Azur, Paul Ricard circuit 20 km away.
Services remain modest, in keeping with a small family site. Wifi is free, water is connected on the pitches, and on site there are showers, a laundry, an ice service and television hire. Motorhomes can empty their waste for €8. Pets are accepted for €4 per day with a vaccination certificate, and a supplement of €2.50 per night applies to visitors. A night costs from €18 to €22.50 for one person and from €27 to €32 for two, with electricity charged from €4 per day.
The rentals in the Santa Maria building and in the Bali, Capri and Safi residences come with bedding, a kitchenette (two burners, sink, fridge), a bathroom with WC, crockery for 4 to 6 people, wifi, heating and reversible air conditioning. Microwave, television and sheets can be hired as an option; water and electricity are paid by meter, about €3 to €5 per day. A deposit of 25% of the amount, with a minimum of €150, is requested, plus a €12 booking fee.
A seasonal restaurant is listed by the tourist office, and the Santa Maria restaurant, with its private beach area, is nearby. No swimming pool or water area is listed at the campsite: swimming is in the sea, a few steps away, mostly in fine weather.
At the campsite, entertainment is low-key: dance evenings and a few pétanque competitions are organised depending on the season. Most of the action is around it, on a coast that offers fishing, watersports, diving and climbing.
La Ciotat is proud of its bay, ranked among the most beautiful in the world, of its calanques, of its status as the birthplace of cinema and of pétanque, and of the Eden cinema, said to be the oldest in the world. These visits do not depend on the season, any more than Cassis, its cliffs and calanques, or La Cadière-d’Azur, a medieval village perched on its hill.
With children, Cuges-les-Pins is home to O.K. Corral, a western theme park, and a water park is located in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, about 4 km away according to the campsite’s website. Motor enthusiasts will head to the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, 20 km away, which offers kart hire, and to the Cité des Arts. On site, the shops of the Place de Fontsainte, 200 m away, make it possible to manage without taking the car.
Open all year round, every day, for both pitches and rentals (studios, bungalows, two-room apartments).
