Six campsites are listed in the Yonne, two of them with verified off-season opening. Between the Puisaye, the Yonne and Cure valleys and northern Burgundy, the département offers quiet low-season stays, a stone’s throw from historic towns.
In Sergines, the three-star campsite Beauséjour is open all year round, rentals and pitches, with no closure announced. Mobile homes and chalets for 2 to 6 people sit alongside pitches of at least 80 m², with a grocery shop, bar and laundry on site. Sens is 15 km away, and the village shops are ten minutes on foot.
In Villeneuve-les-Genêts, the four-star Le Bois Guillaume keeps its chalets and group gîte open all year round, with heated accommodation and washrooms and a pool heated to 28 °C. The pitches, mobile homes and tents close from mid-November to mid-March; motorhomes are welcome all year round.
In Saint-Fargeau, Le Hameau des Grilles, focused on horses, closes for several months: it is a seasonal address. Three other places announce an off-season offer that we have not confirmed: Le Pâtis in Asquins (two wooden caravans for hire all year round), Le Moulin Jacquot La Belle Étoile in Accolay (motorhome stopover from 15 October to 15 March) and the campsite in Merry-sur-Yonne. Contact them before booking. Le Pâtis has heated washrooms; Merry-sur-Yonne stands out for a hand-built washroom block with unlimited hot showers and a bar serving local beers; Le Hameau des Grilles offers pony rides, barrel and wooden caravan, 5 km from the Guédelon building site.
Distinguish between pitch and rental: in winter, only chalets or mobile homes are often available. Ask whether heating is included, and book weekends and holidays in advance.
From Villeneuve-les-Genêts, two routes of the GR de Puisaye start from the campsite, and the châteaux of Saint-Fargeau and Ratilly can be visited; two escape game rooms on site fill the evenings. From Sergines, you can reach Sens, the Camille Claudel museum in Nogent-sur-Seine, 25 km away, and the medieval town of Provins, 35 km away. Le Moulin Jacquot and Le Pâtis border the Cure, with regional cycling routes, Le Moulin Jacquot holding the Etap’Loisirs Vélo label. In Merry-sur-Yonne, the meander of the river invites canoeing and fishing, and two tennis courts are available on site. Near Saint-Fargeau, the Guédelon building site and Colette’s birthplace complete a cultural weekend, a few kilometres away, outside busy periods.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
