Five campsites are listed in the Côte-d’Or, two of them with verified off-season opening: only those are presented as open in the low season. The other three are rural addresses whose winter opening remains to be confirmed with the campsite.
At Les Herlequins, in Saint-Usage, the campsite is open all year round, seven days a week, with a low season from 1 September to 30 June. The private washrooms and the restaurant-bar are heated, and bikes and electric boats can be rented. The site borders the Saône and lies on the Way of St James. At the Camping du Marais, in Riel-les-Eaux, three wooden caravans are rented out all year round, while the pitches close from November to March; the grounds include a 2-hectare fishing pond and a restaurant.
La Valboisière, in Ognon, says it is open all year round, with no verified date. The Domaine de la Pierre Ronde, in Saint-Martin-de-la-Mer, offers fantasy-themed accommodation near Lac de Chamboux; Les Paquiers, in Corberon, is a municipal campsite close to a lake. For these three addresses, winter opening is to be confirmed.
The Camping du Marais has eighteen semi-shaded pitches and is close to a national forest park; at Les Herlequins, the low season runs from 1 September to 30 June, which leaves ten months of reduced rates. Ask which accommodation stays open, whether the washrooms are heated and whether the restaurant operates in winter. Wooden caravans and rental accommodation are a safer bet than bare pitches from November to March. Also say if you are travelling by bike: at Les Herlequins, bikes and electric boats are for hire, and the Saône is easy to follow from the campsite. Book ahead for weekends.
From Riel-les-Eaux, you can reach Châtillon-sur-Seine and its museum of the Vix krater, then Essoyes and Renoir’s studio; the surrounding forests can be explored on foot in any season. From Saint-Usage, you can follow the Saône by bike, and the Way of St James passes nearby.
In the evening, Les Herlequins offers cosy evenings indoors: singing, cooking, games and local crafts, in a heated restaurant-bar. Lac de Chamboux, near La Pierre Ronde, is good for a stroll; the estate also offers massages, encounters with horses and donkeys and shows. From Saint-Usage, the stage on the Way of St James can also be covered on foot or by bike. Les Paquiers welcomes tents, caravans and motorhomes near a lake and a river, and La Valboisière lies between Dijon and southern Burgundy.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
