Five campsites are listed in the Doubs, four of them with verified off-season opening: only those are presented as open all year round. The département combines the mountains of the Haut-Doubs, near the Jura, with the valley of the Doubs and the Loue.
In Mouthe, the Camping de la Source du Doubs rents out ten chalets all year round, heats its washrooms in winter and faces the downhill and cross-country ski slopes, 100 m from the source of the Doubs. In Pontarlier, Le Larmont, a three-star site, rents out eight chalets all year round, with a short closure at the start of the year (reopening on 7 February in 2025), a common room open from 7am to 10pm in winter and the Tourisme et Handicap label.
The Domaine d’Aucroix, in Baume-les-Dames, offers twenty-nine chalets all year round and a 36-space motorhome stopover, open 365 days; the pitches open from 1 April. Les Promenades, in Quingey, are open all year round on the Loue, pitches and lodge tents included, with low-season rates from January to April and from October to December.
La Vallée, in Moncey, on the banks of the Ognon, gives no off-season dates: call the campsite before booking.
At altitude, check the heating, the snow clearance and the distance to the slopes. In the valley, ask whether the pitches are open on the dates you want. Book early for the February holidays. At Le Larmont, e-bikes are available for hire; at Quingey, the grocery shop and the laundry are accessible without restriction, and three lodge tents for five people complement the pitches. Wi-Fi is free throughout the site at Mouthe, and chalets adapted for people with reduced mobility are available at Aucroix.
Near Pontarlier, the Nordic sites of the Grand Pontarlier offer cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding, with a floodlit trail at La Malmaison on Tuesday and Thursday evenings; downhill skiing is available at Les Fourgs and Métabief. At Mouthe, the Source du Doubs resort also offers biathlon and skijoring.
In the valley, Eurovelo 6 and hiking trails start from Baume-les-Dames, where the tourist office publishes the events calendar. At Pontarlier, the Nordic sites remain close to the campsite all season. Around Quingey, the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans and the citadel of Besançon can be visited outside summer, while the canal and the valley offer fishing and hiking all year round. Les Promenades offer tennis, pétanque and canoeing on site, and autumn 2026 brings a gourmet walk on 10 October, a seasonal market on the 16th and a cabaret on the 24th.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
