Merry-sur-Yonne campsite is located at 5 impasse des Sables, in Merry-sur-Yonne, in the Yonne, at the foot of the famous Saussois rocks and on the banks of the river. It covers about two hectares, in a quiet Burgundy setting south of Auxerre.
Several online guides credit it with about 50 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, as well as chalet-type rentals. They also mention a bar, a restaurant, a small shop, Wi-Fi, a games room and a TV room. Pets are accepted.
The river allows fishing and canoeing, and the Saussois rocks, a well-known climbing site, are very close. For a stay in Burgundy, the campsite serves as a base for exploring the Yonne valley on foot, by bike or by canoe, without driving far.
Opening period: several online guides announce opening from 1 January to 31 December, so all year round. This period is not confirmed by any official page consulted: it is to be confirmed with the campsite on 03 86 34 59 55, especially for a winter stay.
The guides describe a well-equipped campsite: heated washrooms, access for people with reduced mobility, restaurant and bar, small shop, Wi-Fi. Chalet rentals complement the pitches.
According to the same guides, the reception staff speak French, English, German and Spanish.
On site or very close by: fishing, canoeing on the Yonne, table tennis, bike hire and evening entertainment depending on the season.
The Saussois rocks tower over the river and attract climbers and walkers alike. Auxerre can be reached by car.
