Le Hameau des Grilles is a residential leisure park near Saint-Fargeau, in the Yonne, in Puisaye-Forterre, about 170 km south of Paris. The estate, surrounded by forest, is a 5-minute walk from Lac du Bourdon and 5 km from the medieval building site of Guédelon and from the château of Saint-Fargeau. It welcomes holidaymakers in wooden chalets and a few unusual types of accommodation, rather than on camping pitches.
The offer includes four chalets, named Little Pony (2 to 4 people), Poons (4 to 6), Horse (6 to 8) and Big Horse (8 to 10), as well as a barrel for 2 people and a wooden caravan. The atmosphere is geared towards nature and horses: an equestrian farm adjoins the park and offers lessons and rides. An 80-seat function room is used for weddings, birthdays and seminars.
Facilities include a swimming pool, a trampoline, a mini-golf course, children’s play equipment, a table tennis table, a Kota grill (a Finnish indoor barbecue hut for 15 people) and a wellness area with a jacuzzi, sauna and hydromassage shower.
Opening period: this is a seasonal site. Le Hameau des Grilles announces a winter closure from late November to late March, with no precise date published for 2026. It therefore does not welcome holidaymakers in winter; to find out the exact opening and closing dates of the season, you need to ask the park.
Reception is open every day from 9:30am to 11:30am and from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Accommodation is available from 4pm and must be vacated before 10am, with a late departure possible until 2pm for an extra charge, subject to availability.
A breakfast (hot drinks, pastries, brioche, jam, butter, orange juice, yoghurt) can be delivered to the chalet between 8am and 11am, to be ordered the day before by 6:30pm and charged at the end of the stay. A bakery service works with an order form left at reception. A laundry room is open all day, an iron can be borrowed at reception, and a shop sells wine, artisan honey, souvenirs, ice cream, soft drinks and sweets. A tourist information point offers maps, guides to the Puisaye and walking trails.
Pets are accepted in the accommodation, with a supplement of €15 for two days and €30 for the week. The pool is a seasonal facility, and the wellness area can be booked privately in 1.5-hour sessions, with a jacuzzi for 6 people and a sauna for 3 people.
The park offers on site a swimming pool, a trampoline, a mini-golf course, pony rides, children’s play equipment and table tennis; these activities vary with the season. The adjoining equestrian farm gives lessons with state-qualified instructors, rides along Lac du Bourdon and half-day or full-day outings during the school holidays.
Five minutes on foot away, Lac du Bourdon offers supervised swimming at the Calanque, pedalo, canoe and windsurf board hire, a leisure centre, fishing and a rowing school.
Around the park, Puisaye-Forterre has fine visits in store: the medieval building site of Guédelon and the château of Saint-Fargeau 5 km away, Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, Colette’s native village, 6 km away, then the underground quarries of Aubigny and the fortified château of Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines about 25 km away. A guest review also mentions treetop adventure courses and escape games in the area.
Seasonal campsite: closed from late November to late March, so open roughly from late March to late November (2026 dates to be confirmed with the park).
