Les Promenades is located at 1 rue des Promenades in Quingey, in the Doubs, on the bank of the Loue. Besançon is about twenty minutes away, the village centre five minutes on foot, and the manager emphasises the peace of the spot beside the water. The campsite is rated 3 stars and displays the ACSI logo.
It has 64 pitches: 61 for tents, caravans or motorhomes, all shaded and measuring 80 to 150 m², of which numbers 1 to 20 have direct access to the river, and 3 lodge tents. About 80% of the pitches can be connected to electricity. Each 30 m² lodge sleeps up to five people in two bedrooms, with a fully equipped kitchen and a 10 m² covered terrace.
On opening, the home page states in so many words “open all year round”. The rate card published by the campsite also distinguishes a low season from 1 January to 30 April and from 2 October to 31 December, with a nightly rate for both pitches and lodges. Reception is open every day from 10:30am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 8pm, and arrivals are possible from 2pm to 8pm. The website does not mention any heating.
The campsite also organises events in early autumn: a gourmet walk on 10 October 2026, a seasons market on 16 October and a cabaret on 24 October.
Gourmet walk on 10 October, seasons market on 16 October and cabaret on 24 October 2026; Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans and citadel of Besançon to visit.
The campsite focuses on simplicity. The laundry is accessible without restriction, with tokens for the washing machines and the dryer, and the campsite wifi is free. A grocery shop and a common area complete the amenities, reception is multilingual and all payment methods are accepted. The website mentions accessibility for people with disabilities and a service point for motorhomes.
The three lodge tents, named Ledoux, Courbet and Pasteur, stand on the riverbank. Their canvas is waterproofed on the outside, with a cotton inner lining for better thermal comfort. Each room has lighting and sockets. The living-kitchen area includes a fridge, a gas stove, a microwave, a coffee maker, a kettle on request and crockery for six. One bedroom has a 140 cm bed, the other three 80 cm beds on slatted bases.
Bed linen is not provided: guests bring their own or hire it for €15 per stay and per person. Rentals are by the week, from 2pm on the chosen day until 10am seven days later. An inventory check takes place on arrival and departure. The site has no swimming pool.
On site, a tennis court and two pétanque courts are available, along with a children’s play area. The campsite also encourages cycling and hiking in the surrounding area.
The Loue allows canoeing and paddleboarding, on a dedicated day. For fishing, the permit is bought in the centre of Quingey, five minutes’ walk from the campsite. The whole is presented as a setting that encourages meetings between neighbouring campers.
Around Quingey, the website mentions the Osselle cave, renowned for its natural setting and prehistoric past, the many waterfalls of the region, the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans and the great saltworks of Salins-les-Bains, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the citadel of Besançon, which offers a view over the city and houses several museums. As the campsite stays open all year round, these visits can be fitted into an off-season stay.
The campsite calendar includes, in autumn 2026, a gourmet walk, a seasons market and a cabaret, all opportunities to stay outside the summer.
