Overview

Domaine d’Aucroix sits on Quai du Canal, at number 33, in Baume-les-Dames, in the Doubs. The site runs alongside the canal, close to the town centre, and from here you can join the Eurovelo 6, which follows the Doubs valley. The estate brings together on a single site a campsite of 50 pitches of 90 m², a park of 29 rental chalets and a motorhome area.

The chalets come in 27 models for 4 to 6 people, with a living area and sofa bed, a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with bunk beds, an equipped kitchenette, a full bathroom and a private terrace, plus 2 chalets for 4 people designed for guests with reduced mobility. The motorhome area offers 36 parking spaces, each connected to its own hook-up point.

As for the opening period, the three offers do not follow the same calendar: the camping pitches open from 1 April, while the chalets can be booked all year round and the motorhome area is priced from 1 January to 31 December. The 2026 price list for the chalets includes an off-season rate from 1 January to 26 April, then from 2 November to 31 December. The website sets no end date for the pitches.

In high season, from 29 June to 30 August 2026, only stays of 4 nights or more are accepted in the chalets. The estate also runs a 50 m² activity room, the Chalet d’Aucroix, which can be rented for a day or a weekend.

On the campsite side, each 90 m² pitch has an electrical hook-up. A washroom block combines showers and basins in cubicles, with washrooms adapted for people with disabilities, complemented by two water points and an area for washing dishes and hand-washing laundry. Wifi is free, private parking is available, and a pay laundry offers a washing machine and a dryer. The estate also provides baby equipment (high chair, changing mat), a water fountain, a tourist information corner and barbecues.

The chalets come with a fridge and crockery. Sheet hire (€10 per pair with pillowcases) and towel hire (€3) are booked separately, as is the €80 cleaning fee. A €250 deposit for damage is required, and pets are accepted for €5 a day.

The motorhome area has 36 spaces, each with its own hook-up. It includes waste water and toilet emptying, drinking water, electricity, hot-water showers and basins, parking and bins. The posted rate of €15 per 24 hours runs from 1 January to 31 December, making it the service that can be used in winter. Shops, a 24-hour petrol station and garages are nearby.

Around the estate, cycling has pride of place: the Eurovelo 6 runs through the Doubs valley and its villages, several mountain bike circuits are on offer, a network of numbered junctions lets you put together your own route, and rosalies, multi-seat pedal vehicles, can be hired for riding in a group. You can also climb, hike to the source of the Cusancin, fish in the Doubs, the Ognon, the Cusancin or the Rigney ponds, and go canoeing or kayaking.

For day trips, the website recommends the Comté cheese dairy at Passavant-Chazot, the museum of Franche-Comté houses, the Osselle cave, Belvoir castle and the Loue valley, with a 41 km route from Ornans to the source of the Loue. The Saut du Doubs, a 27-metre waterfall on the Swiss border, can be reached on foot, by horse-drawn carriage or by boat, every day from 1 April to the end of the All Saints’ holidays.

The estate does not run its own entertainment; it points to the tourist office’s events calendar and to the Baume-les-Dames media library for events in the town and surrounding area, including off-season.
