Five campsites are listed in Indre-et-Loire, in the Loire Valley and the south of Touraine, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. None currently has verified off-season opening: this page therefore cannot guarantee any address open in the depths of winter, and states for each one what is announced or what closes.
In La Ville-aux-Dames, on the edge of Tours, Les Acacias is announced as open all year round. It offers air-conditioned cottages with up to four bedrooms, one of them accessible to guests with reduced mobility, an on-site restaurant, bike hire by the day and pitches for Loire à Vélo cycle tourists. In Le Grand-Pressigny, the municipal campsite opens its pitches from 1 April to 30 October, but two 32 m² chalets are available all year round; booking is through the town hall. In Ligueil, the Camping de la Touche occupies four wooded hectares with a river and offers glamping; its off-season dates are to be confirmed.
Tours Val de Loire, in Saint-Avertin on the banks of the Cher, is open from 20 March to 1 November with 110 pitches, chalets and equipped tents; rates drop outside July and August, to €15 a night for two people against €24. Les Terrasses de Rivarennes, a three-star site in the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park, has about twenty pitches, a pool, mobile homes, a baby area and a children’s play area; its off-season opening is not confirmed.
Ask for the exact dates, distinguishing between pitches and rentals, and whether heating is provided. The cottages at Les Acacias are air-conditioned, but it is the campsite’s answer on heating and opening dates that matters before booking in the low season.
The Loire à Vélo crosses the département: Les Acacias hires out bikes by the day and Tours Val de Loire lies on the cycle route, on the banks of the Cher, four kilometres from Tours. The latter gives free access to the neighbouring municipal swimming pool in summer. At Les Acacias, the restaurant is called La Taverne de la Métairie.
Further south, the municipal campsite at Le Grand-Pressigny allows fishing directly from the pitches, on the Aigronne river; its pool, paddling pool and sun deck are used in season. In Ligueil, the Camping de la Touche organises fish and chips evenings and offers four wooded hectares with a river and centuries-old trees. At Les Terrasses de Rivarennes, the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park offers a peaceful setting, with pool, snack bar and children’s play area.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
