Two small campsites are listed in Loir-et-Cher, in the north of the département and in the Sologne. Neither has a verified off-season opening, so we cannot present either as open all year round with certainty. Both are described as open all year or as offering activities all year, but this information must be confirmed with the campsite before any trip.
In Saint-Agil, the Ferme de Tourneux runs a small farm campsite on a simple rural site. Farm produce and dishes prepared on the premises are available. The campsite is advertised as open all year round, though we have not been able to verify this: ask about opening dates and any winter closure.
In Vernou-en-Sologne, the municipal natural campsite offers twenty-five simple pitches in a rural setting geared towards hiking and horse riding. Activities are organised there all year round: tennis, pétanque, horseback outings. Wifi is available on site, and the washrooms and water point are basic. No rental accommodation is mentioned: in winter, bring suitable equipment and confirm the welcome with the municipality.
These two addresses are modest. Before booking, ask whether water and washrooms remain accessible in winter, whether the pitches are usable after rain and whether reception is staffed off-season. The Loire Valley and its châteaux can also be visited in spring and autumn. At the farm in Saint-Agil, the sale of farm produce and prepared dishes makes it easy to stock up on site; in Vernou-en-Sologne, ask how reception works, since the site is municipal, with basic washrooms and a water point. Also confirm whether electricity and wifi are available in the season you choose.
Off-season, the Sologne is best explored on foot or on horseback: the natural campsite at Vernou-en-Sologne is geared towards hiking and horse riding, and horseback outings are organised there. The setting is that of the Loire Valley, between châteaux and game-rich forests. From Saint-Agil, in the north of the département, the Ferme de Tourneux campsite lets you buy farm produce on site and explore the Loire Valley countryside. In Vernou-en-Sologne, tennis, pétanque and horseback outings are offered all year round, and wifi covers the site with its twenty-five pitches. The prepared dishes from the Saint-Agil farm, sold on site alongside the farm produce, mean you can cook very little. The north of Loir-et-Cher and the Sologne thus offer two simple rural settings.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
