Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
Tours Val de Loire campsite is at 61 rue de Rochepinard, in Saint-Avertin, on the banks of the Cher. The centre of Tours is 4 km away, reached by bike along the Loire à Vélo or by bus, and exit 22 of the A10 is very close, which also makes it a convenient stopover on the way to holiday. The site, with a tree-lined look, belongs to the Onlycamp network, which claims human-scale campsites.
It announces 110 pitches in total: 76 are for tents, caravans and motorhomes, most often with a 10-amp hookup, and the rest is a rental fleet of 20 chalets, 10 tiny houses and 4 furnished tents, including a 35 m² chalet adapted for people with reduced mobility. Dogs are accepted on a lead, with an up-to-date vaccination record.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. It announces opening from 20 March to 1 November 2026, which means a closure of about four and a half months, from early November to mid-March. The official website mentions no accommodation or pitch available in winter; for a stay outside these dates, contact the campsite directly on 07 69 92 73 48.
The campsite highlights cycle tourists, with a dedicated welcome area, and offers a loyalty card for the off-season, valid during the opening period.
The services are those of a medium-sized campsite. The washroom block has showers, toilets, basins, washing-up areas, a baby corner and an area adapted for people with reduced mobility. A laundry room, a motorhome service area outside the site, a small convenience shop with local products and a room with a television, children’s games and a pool table complete the offer. Wifi is free at reception and on the pitches, but not in the accommodation.
A snack guinguette serves pizzas, bruschettas and sharing boards on its terrace in summer, and a bread drop-off is announced only in high season, to order the day before. The Home Vélo area offers a secure garage, a maintenance corner and a small fitted kitchen.
For swimming, the campsite has a splashpad with free access in summer, next to the snack. The municipal pool, just behind the site, has a covered 25 m pool and a paddling pool; entry is free for guests in summer, on a voucher collected at reception, and at a reduced rate in the off-season.
On site there is a play area, a petanque court with boules loaned out, a table tennis table and games lent at reception: board games, molkky, racquets. The splashpad remains the children’s main attraction in summer.
The campsite is well placed for exploring the Touraine. Tours, with its old town, its Place Plumereau and its Saint-Gatien cathedral, is reached in twenty minutes by bus line 3A or 3B, or by bike. The Loire à Vélo and the Cher à Vélo pass nearby, and the Loire and the Cher lend themselves to canoeing. In town, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and its great Lebanon cedar, the natural history museum and trips on traditional boats on the Loire easily fill a day, and the local food (rillettes, goat’s cheese, Vouvray and Montlouis wines) is part of the trip. Among the outings mentioned further on are the châteaux of Chenonceau, Amboise, Villandry and Langeais, the Beauval zoo, the Touraine aquarium and the wine cellars of Montlouis and Vouvray.
Seasonal campsite: open from 20 March to 1 November 2026, closed in winter.
