Ten campsites are listed in the Bouches-du-Rhône, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, seven of them with verified off-season opening: only these are presented here as open outside summer. The other three, in Aix-en-Provence, Marignane and Saint-Andiol, have no confirmed information: call them before travelling.
This is where the year-round offer is concentrated. In Vitrolles, Marina Plage rents 340 air-conditioned mobile homes, bookable from 1 January to 31 December, with a private beach on the lagoon, kayaks, paddleboards and pedal boats lent free of charge, and Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Martigues nearby; only the reception closes on 25 December and 1 January. In Saint-Mitre-les-Remparts, the Neptune, three stars, welcomes pitches and rentals all year near the Massane beach, but its pool is open only from 1 June to the end of September or October. In Istres, Le Vallon des Cigales, four stars, publishes winter rates from 1 January to 1 April and from 1 October to 31 December. Near Salon-de-Provence, La Pinède, a three-star site in Cornillon-Confoux, welcomes guests all year in its chalets, mobile homes and pitches; its 16 x 8 m pool has no stated opening dates and reception dates are to be confirmed.
At the foot of the Alpilles, in Mouriès, Les Amandaies, a small farm campsite with six pitches, is open every day, with arrivals until 5pm from mid-October to early April. On the coast, Santa Gusta, two stars, in La Ciotat, stays open all year for both pitches and furnished rentals, some of them heated. La Brise de Camargue, in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, is a special case: according to the 2026 calendar, it is closed from 14 November to 17 December, then from 4 January to about 5 February, but welcomes guests at Christmas, and offers a kids’ club during the autumn holidays.
Check what operates in winter: pools and water parks often close, while rentals stay open. Ask about arrival times, low-season rates and whether there is heating or reversible air conditioning. Tents are not accepted everywhere: Marina Plage offers only mobile homes.
Low season lends itself to visits without the crowds. From La Ciotat, the bay and the calanques can be explored all year, with the Eden cinema, the calanques of Cassis and the medieval village of La Cadière-d’Azur. Around the Étang de Berre, you can head out to Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Salon-de-Provence and Martigues, where the Le Palace cinema and the covered Royal Kids park fill rainy days.
In the Alpilles, Mouriès is France’s first olive-growing village: the Moulin Cornille houses a permanent exhibition on the olive tree, and a walking trail links the village to Aureille. Les Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence are a few kilometres away. In Cornillon-Confoux, a 9 km loop crosses the Pont-de-Rhaud massif, while in the Camargue flamingos can be watched from the paths near Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. In Vitrolles, the animal parks next to Marina Plage remain accessible to guests in winter, with the tortoises spending the cold season in heated shelters.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
