Five campsites are listed in the Vaucluse, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, two of them with verified off-season opening. Two others are seasonal campsites, closed in winter, and one has no confirmed dates: only the first two are presented here as open all year.
Camping Bagatelle, on Barthelasse island, facing the Pont d’Avignon, is open all year, with 197 pitches under plane trees and mobile homes; the centre of Avignon is a five-minute walk away. Note the restrictions: tents are not accepted from November to the end of February and reception keeps winter hours, from 9am to 1.30pm and then from 3.30pm to 8pm. The campsite is in a flood zone, with evacuation instructions available at reception. It has no pool; the neighbouring grocery, laundrette, youth hostel and hotel, however, stay open. On the same island, Les 2 Rhône, two stars, closes exceptionally from 8 November 2026 to 4 March 2027: it is a seasonal address.
In Sorgues, La Montagne, four stars, presents itself as open all year. Its low season runs from 1 January to 20 April and from 15 September to 31 December, with heated washrooms in winter and reduced rates, notably before 1 May and after mid-September; the heated water park operates only from late April to mid-September, and the exact dates for each type of accommodation are to be confirmed with reception. In Caromb, Le Bouquier, three stars, closes in winter and reopens in spring. In Courthézon, the dates for Les Sources remain to be confirmed by phone.
Ask whether tents are accepted in winter, about reception hours and about low-season rates. As Bagatelle is in a flood zone, find out about the safety instructions before booking.
Off-season, Avignon stays lively: Cheval Passion takes place in January, Les Hivernales in February and the wine festivals in November, while the Festival d’Avignon fills the month of July. From Bagatelle, the Via Rhona follows the Rhône for 815 km, and the Vaucluse canoe-kayak committee organises trips on the river, with a passage under the Pont d’Avignon.
Around Sorgues, you can reach Gordes, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Orange and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and visit wine cellars with tastings, markets and flea markets; a cycle route leads to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. In Caromb, Le Bouquier is 15 minutes from the Dentelles de Montmirail, whose wine route passes through Gigondas and Vacqueyras, and 30 minutes from Mont Ventoux. In Sorgues, a network of rental firms delivers bikes to your pitch, and shoulder-season rates make it possible to enjoy the calm of spring and autumn.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
