Seven campsites are listed in the Côtes-d’Armor, only two of them with verified off-season opening: these are the only ones presented as open all year round in northern Brittany. The others are either seasonal addresses or campsites whose winter opening remains to be confirmed. The département has a coastline of pink granite and an interior of lakes and rivers.
In Plestin-les-Grèves, La Corniche is a small campsite facing the bay of Loquirec, on the Pink Granite Coast. Reception is staffed all year round, with no closure, even though the grocery shop and bar only operate from June to September and the information point only opens in the evening in winter. The GR 34, the former customs officers’ path, crosses the site, and the beaches are five minutes on foot; the mobile homes have a sea-view terrace. In Caurel, the Camping du Lac has 60 pitches on the shores of Lac de Guerlédan, with reception open without a closing period and separate rates outside the summer period.
The Panorama du Rohou, in Ploubazlanec, facing the island of Bréhat, closes for several months: it is an address for spring, summer and autumn. In Plélo, the Camping Loc’Han announces rentals all year round and a heated pool, but its pitches close in the low season; opening remains to be confirmed, as for the municipal campsite of Le Cambout, the Le Lac d’Allineuc campsite and the natural site of Landébia. Call these campsites before any winter trip. The municipal campsite of Le Cambout, a small site of 15 pitches with no rentals, shows daily rates of €5 to €10, but its dates are not confirmed.
Specify whether you want a pitch or a rental, and ask for the exact opening dates, the heating of the accommodation and the condition of the washrooms. On the coast, favour solid accommodation; by the lake, a pitch remains possible in Caurel. Book ahead for the February and Christmas holidays.
Around Plestin-les-Grèves, the GR 34 follows the coast, and the beaches of Pors Mellec and Les Curés are good for off-season walks; the Vélomaritime also passes nearby. Inland, Lac de Guerlédan offers 40 km of waymarked paths on the GR 341, fishing, a visit to the dam and to Bon-Repos abbey, from Caurel.
In Allineuc, the 72-hectare Lac de Bosméléac is suited to paddleboarding and canoeing in season, and the river Oust is 300 metres from the Le Lac campsite. Near Landébia, a pond 300 metres away, the Lac du Guébriand and the river Arguenon, 5 km away each, invite walks. In Plélo, the beaches are 12 km away. In fine weather, the landing stage for the island of Bréhat is five minutes on foot from the Panorama du Rohou, in Ploubazlanec.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
