Six campsites in Maine-et-Loire are listed, five of them with verified off-season opening: only these are presented here as open all year. They are spread across the Loire Valley, the Layon vineyards, the Saumurois and the Mauges, in Anjou: areas that are pleasant to explore in autumn and winter.
In La Ménitré, the Camping Terre de Loire, a two-star campsite on the banks of the Loire, opens twelve months a year, with arrivals possible 24 hours a day from 5pm and heated washrooms in winter. It holds the Home Vélo label, and the station is 900 m away. In Savennières, La Bradière, a small campsite with 30 pitches 15 minutes from Angers, keeps its pitches and motorhome reception open from 1 January to 31 December; its mobile homes are not rented in winter.
In Val-du-Layon, the Camping de la Coudraye rents out its four chalets all year, as well as its Camping-Car Park area, while its pitches and mini-chalets close from 1 November to 19 April. Further south, Le Thouet, an 8-hectare campsite on the banks of the Thouet in Montreuil-Bellay, announces opening from 1 January to 31 December, to be confirmed with the campsite before departure.
In Maulévrier, Les Logis de l’Oumois welcomes guests in rental accommodation all year, on two fishing ponds. From 1 December to 1 March, tents, caravans and motorhomes are not accepted for nightly stays. The washroom block is closed and heated.
Before booking, ask what remains accessible in winter: pitch, chalet, mobile home or motorhome area. The Mon Village campsite, in Val-du-Layon, is the only one whose off-season opening could not be established: contact the town hall before going. For school holidays, book early: the campsites of Maine-et-Loire have few chalets.
Off-season, the Layon vineyards can be explored on foot or by mountain bike from La Coudraye, with visits to wine estates and a walk to the Pont-Barré, 3 km away. In Savennières, tasting at the winegrowers’ estates remains possible, and the troglodyte Christmas market of Doué-en-Anjou is 18 km from La Bradière. Terra Botanica, 15 minutes away, opens during the All Saints’ holidays.
From La Ménitré, the Loire à Vélo and waymarked trails start at the campsite, and the châteaux of Angers and Saumur can be visited in a day, in Anjou as in the Loire Valley. In Montreuil-Bellay, a 24-stage heritage trail runs along the ramparts of the medieval town, and the château opens from 1 April to 1 November. Near Maulévrier, the Parc Oriental is five minutes away, and Cholet offers bowling, karting, laser game and escape game, with a reduced rate for campsite guests.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
