Overview

Sérendipité campsite overlooks the valley at about 1,000 metres above sea level, in the commune of Neuvéglise-sur-Truyère in the Cantal. The village and its services are 800 metres away. The 3-star site is densely wooded, bordered by meadows where cows and horses graze, and laid out in broad, level terraces that give most pitches a view over the valleys. It is a human-scale campsite run by a couple, with no mobile homes and no swimming pool.

The offer comprises 34 unequipped pitches for tents, caravans, vans and motorhomes, nine wooden cabins of 6 to 18 m² (without washroom or sink; guests use the shared washroom blocks), two 16 m² pods for 4 people with a private washroom and a large 35 m² chalet, Le Cerf, for 6 people, fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. The eco-friendly approach is emphasised: waste management, water and energy savings, eco-certified cleaning products and short supply chains for the grocery shop and the snack bar.

As for opening, only the two pods and the Le Cerf chalet are available all year round. The pitches and cabins are closed from 11 October 2026 to 2 April 2027. Off-season, the campsite targets skiers, snowshoers and spa guests visiting Chaudes-Aigues, with a spa-guest rate of 20% off the stay announced.

Reception is open every day from April to October, with extended hours from 11 July to 23 August. It houses a small grocery shop and souvenirs. A bread service, a takeaway snack bar with local or organic products (breakfasts, picnics, sharing platters, drinks) and a laundry with washing machine, dryer and tubs for hand washing complete the facilities. There is no table service: guests eat in the shared area or in their accommodation. Exceptionally, the snack bar and the bread service are closed for the whole of October 2026.

Wifi covers a large part of the site, with a 4G backup box for those working remotely in peace and quiet. The campsite also has an electric vehicle charging point, a barbecue area, a children’s playground and an outdoor shared area with a large wooden terrace, a lounge and a rain-sheltered zone. Pets are accepted. Equipment can be hired: deckchairs, electric cool boxes, games, a baby kit, and a hotel-style package with made beds and end-of-stay cleaning is available.

There is no swimming pool on site. For a swim, the municipal pool at Lanau and its water sports centre are less than five minutes away. As for heating, the Le Cerf chalet has a radiator in each bedroom and another in the living room, which makes it suitable for winter stays.
