A verified selection, presented on equal footing, in an order that changes with every visit.
Four campsites are listed in the Ardennes, and none currently has a verified off-season opening. This page therefore cannot present any of them as open all year round. It indicates what is announced, what closes and what needs to be confirmed with each establishment before an off-season trip.
In the Ardennes Regional Natural Park, the Domaine d’Haulmé, four stars, spreads over twenty-one hectares beside the Semoy. It offers gîtes for 9 or 19 people advertised as open all year round, as well as domes, bell tents, tiny houses and vintage caravans. Its off-season opening is not confirmed. Near Sedan, in Matton-et-Clémency, the Domaine du Banel, three stars, covers thirteen wooded hectares crossed by streams and ponds, with a restaurant serving Ardennes cuisine; its dates are to be confirmed. In Givet, in the loop of the Meuse near the Belgian border, the municipal caravan site has left no usable information on its dates.
In Neuville-Day, the Ferme de la Croix Villière, run by the Coutel family since 1989, is open from 1 April to 15 November. It is a spring, summer and autumn address, with three recent mobile homes and a farm visit.
Call each campsite before you leave to find out the exact dates, any closure and the type of welcome maintained: gîtes, pitches or unusual accommodation. Ask whether heating is included and which services stay open in winter. Book directly, since none of the four campsites has a verified opening on this portal. For a winter stay, favour solid accommodation: the gîtes at the Domaine d’Haulmé, for 9 or 19 people, suit group stays.
From Haulmé, the Semoy can be paddled by canoe or kayak in the fine season, and the Trans-Semoysienne allows hiking or mountain biking in the valley. The domaine has a climbing wall, and free café-concerts take place there on Thursdays from May to August.
Near Neuville-Day, the Ardennes canal lines up 26 locks, a route for a stroll in spring or autumn. In Matton-et-Clémency, the springs, streams and ponds of the Domaine du Banel offer a calm setting near Sedan. In Givet, the Meuse and the Belgian border shape a walking area accessible all year round.
The Domaine d’Haulmé is located in the Ardennes Regional Natural Park, a protected natural setting. Travellers who enjoy winter walks can combine the Semoy and the Trans-Semoysienne, provided they have confirmed that the gîtes are available on the chosen date.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
