Overview

Val Vert en Berry is an independent family campsite, a member of the Flower network, two kilometres from the centre of La Châtre, in the Indre. Châteauroux is about 40 km to the north, Bourges an hour away by road, and the site lies in the heart of George Sand country, close to her house at Nohant. It is rated 4 stars, carries the Camping Qualité mark and the European Ecolabel, and the managers, Claire and Daniel, welcome their guests in person.

Across more than two hectares, wooded and terraced above the Indre, there are 58 bare pitches bordered by hedges, six premium mobile homes with 2 or 3 bedrooms, four 25 m² wooden eco-cabins overlooking the valley, two furnished tents and a multipurpose room for about thirty people. The campsite is labelled Home Vélo and Base VTT, and the Way of St James and the Cyclo Bohème cycle route pass very close by.

Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite, welcoming the public from early April to late September. It is therefore closed in winter. The pool and the restaurant, for their part, run only from May to September, and the kids’ club from mid-July to late August. The precise dates of the 2026 season are not published with certainty: for a stay at the start or end of the season, it is best to call 02 54 30 13 51.
