Les Chalets de la Bessière is a holiday park run by the commune of Lacrouzette, in the Tarn, at 2 chemin de la Bessière. The site is in the heart of the Sidobre, the granite massif renowned for its rocks and boulder fields, a short walk from the village. The setting is described as calm and natural, with waymarked trails starting on foot or by mountain bike.
The park has 20 timber-frame chalets for 4 to 8 people depending on the model, all equipped with a kitchen, crockery, a television and garden furniture with a terrace. Chalets 1 and 2, the largest, offer 38.5 m² and electric heating. Booking is online for one night, a weekend or a long stay; in July and August, a minimum of two consecutive nights is required, and the town hall handles stays of more than seven nights.
Opening: the park is presented as open all year round by the Sidobre tourist office and by the Tarn departmental campsite guide, and the commune publishes its rental rates from 1 January 2026. The chalets are therefore also rented in winter, for passing holidaymakers as well as longer stays, with electric heating indicated for chalets 1 and 2. Prices range from €329 to €378 per week, and from €144 to €163 per weekend.
Walks and mountain bike rides on the Sidobre trails, mountain bike hire all year round, tea dances at the foyer rural from October to May.
The offer is that of a chalet park, with no shops or catering advertised on site. The chalets are equipped with a microwave, crockery, a television and garden furniture; the largest have a kitchen with hob and fridge, a shower room, duvets and mattress protectors, but bed linen is not provided. The park has a laundry, wifi, bike shelters and a multi-purpose room, which is accessible outside July and August. A heated shared room is also mentioned.
Pets are accepted, one dog or cat per chalet. Two deposits are requested on arrival, €50 for cleaning and €500 for any damage, returned after the inventory check. Payment is by bank card, cheque, cash or online.
No swimming pool is advertised at the park. Shops and services are in the nearby village of Lacrouzette. The park also hires out mountain bikes, a service stated as available all year round, useful for reaching the Sidobre trails without bringing your own equipment.
At the park there is a tennis court, a football pitch, a pétanque court, a table tennis table, a children’s playground and an orienteering course. Mountain biking is possible on site with bike hire, and walking starts directly from the grounds on waymarked trails.
The Sidobre is the main playground: this granite massif is known for curiosities such as the Roc de l’Oie, the Peyro Clabado, the Trois Fromages or the Rocher Tremblant, which can be visited on foot or by mountain bike. The Cité des granitiers du Sidobre offers visits.
Off-season, walks remain possible on the massif’s trails. The commune also hosts tea dances, organised by an association at the foyer rural from October to May, and a festival committee enlivens village life throughout the year. Further afield, Castres and Albi can be visited as a day trip.
Open all year round: chalets rented all year, 2026 rates published (minimum stay of 2 nights in July and August).
