Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
Les Rives du Lac covers three wooded hectares in Nages, in the Tarn, in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park and at an altitude of about 800 m. Lake Laouzas is about a hundred metres away, Lacaune 9.5 km, and Toulouse, Montpellier or Béziers one to two hours by road.
The site brings together three areas: a residential park of 18 chalets with a covered terrace and water views, a zone of mobile homes for one to four people called Rieu Natura, and a natural camping area with ten large unequipped pitches (150 to 200 m²), some less than 30 m from the shore. Dogs are accepted under certain conditions, for 2 € per day. The campsite also welcomes groups of up to 100 people and has a function room.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. Reception is advertised from April 17 to November 1, 2026, after which the site closes for the winter. Outside summer, nobody is on duty at reception except for 4pm arrivals: it is best to call 05 63 98 35 28 before you come. The bar, snack bar and small emergency grocery operate in high season.
The Rieumontagné beach, awarded the Blue Flag, can be reached on foot from the campsite, and a water sports centre is about ten minutes’ walk away.
Reception, staffed by a French- and English-speaking team, hands out the access badge, the site map and tourist information. Free wifi covers the residential park and reception. A laundry room has a pay washing machine and tumble dryer, with an ironing board and iron available to borrow. A small emergency grocery opens during reception hours, and a games room with pool and table football welcomes children in the late afternoon, Monday to Friday. A free communal barbecue is available.
In July and August, the bar and snack bar serves bread baked on site, pastries, breakfasts, quick dishes at lunchtime and homemade crêpes or galettes in the evening, with vegetarian and gluten-free options; themed evenings are organised. A shuttle runs to Lacaune during these two months. Outside high season, these services are not guaranteed and it is best to ask the campsite.
There is no swimming pool on the campsite: swimming is in the lake, at the supervised Rieumontagné beach (lifeguard post in July and August), and the neighbouring leisure centre, about 400 m away, gives access to a pool described as free in high season.
Lake Laouzas is the main playground. Swimming is allowed in a marked area, fishing is done from the water’s edge, and the water sports centre, about ten minutes’ walk away, hires out canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, pedal boats and boats that need no licence. A sailing school is about 300 m away. Waymarked hiking trails start near the campsite, and the Monts de Lacaune offer mountain bike and road cycling routes.
On site there is a play area and a games room, but no organised entertainment apart from the high-season themed evenings. In the surrounding area, the campsite highlights Lacaune and its charcuterie, La Salvetat-sur-Agout, Olargues, one of the most beautiful villages in France, the Sidobre, the Héric gorges, Lake Raviège, as well as the Roquefort caves and the Tarn gorges, less than an hour away by road for the nearest ones. Albi, Castres and Cordes-sur-Ciel are suggested for day trips.
Seasonal campsite: open from April 17 to November 1, 2026, closed in winter. Reception not staffed throughout outside summer: call before arrival.
