Domaine du Haut des Bluches is in La Bresse, in the High Vosges, at 710 m altitude, on the edge of forest and river. The site covers 4 hectares in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park; the La Bresse-Hohneck ski resort is 6 km away and a winter bus stop is about a hundred metres off.
Rated 3 stars since November 2022, the site holds the Qualité Tourisme, Famille Plus and Home Vélo labels. It has 117 pitches of about 90 m², laid out in terraces with mountain views, seven 35 m² chalets for 4 to 6 people (two adapted for guests with reduced mobility) and a 13-room hotel. Long-stay pitches, for more than two months or all year, are also available for a caravan or mobile home, but they are not meant for holidaymakers passing through.
The estate lives through two seasons: its website speaks of snow-caravan camping and winter camping. The washrooms are heated in summer and winter, the chalets are electrically heated and pitches can be booked in summer and in winter. The 2026 annual closure runs from 8 November to 17 December, about five weeks; for the rest of the year, reception is staffed, with longer hours during school holidays.
Off-season, the place suits skiers and snowshoers, families during the winter holidays and motorhomers, who have two parking areas.
Alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tobogganing, ice rink and cinema in La Bresse; free winter bus to La Bresse-Hohneck and Lispach.
The washrooms are individual cubicles (shower, basin and WC) and stay heated in winter. The campsite offers 13-amp hook-ups, waste and fill points, a coin-operated laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a lockable ski and bike room, handy for storing equipment. Wi-fi is free at reception and on about 70% of pitches.
Reception helps out with a small shop for dry goods and drinks, with a bakery service by order before 6.30pm the day before: bread, pastries and brioche. The Rest’Ô Bluches restaurant serves home-style regional cooking; it opens every evening during school holidays.
For motorhomes there are two options: an indoor area with 13 to 14 stabilised pitches with electricity and access to the heated washrooms, and a municipal outdoor area with 17 places, with no advance booking possible. In winter, snow chains or snow tyres are compulsory on the area from 1 November to 31 March.
The chalets include water, electricity and heating in the rental price, with a fitted kitchen and dishwasher, TV and electric barbecue; bed linen can be added and a baby kit can be borrowed free of charge on request. There is no swimming pool on the estate: the website points to wellness facilities nearby. An inflatable play structure for 3 to 10 year-olds operates from 30 June to 30 August.
On the estate, children have a playground for 3 to 6 and 6 to 12 year-olds, a multi-sports court with basketball hoop and table tennis table, a games room with table football, as well as board games and balls to borrow. Seven introductory orienteering courses are offered, and snowshoe routes start right from the campsite in winter.
Around the site, summer invites hiking, mountain biking on labelled routes, the bike park, the rail toboggan and orienteering outings. Winter transforms the nearby slopes: alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tobogganing, ice rink, bowling and cinema. The free winter bus serves the La Bresse-Hohneck and La Bresse-Lispach ski areas, less than 10 km away; according to the 2025-2026 timetable, it runs from 20 December to 5 January, on weekends in January and from 7 February to 7 March.
For food lovers, the website mentions farm inns, Munster AOP cheese, smoked cured meats, fir honey and handmade sweets. The Famille Plus label commits the town to offering activities suited to all ages.
