Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
FoxyCamp occupies the leisure area of the Étangs du Longeau, in the Calonne forest, in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park in the Meuse. The village of Hannonville-sous-les-Côtes is 5 km away, Les Éparges 8 km and the Verdun battlefield 35 km. The site presents itself as an eco-responsible nature campsite, quiet and secluded, facing two ponds. The former leisure centre, occupied by the Germans and then by the Americans during the Great War, has kept historical traces, and the campsite promotes unspoilt nature, far from any noise.
The site has 27 naturally marked-out pitches of about 100 m², 13 of them with electricity. For rentals, the offer is unusual: geodesic domes, a tipi, two chalets, a mobile home and a tiny mobile home, for 2 to 6 people depending on the model, with rates starting at 69 € per night. Pets on a lead are accepted, and communal paddocks take riders’ horses.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. The website announces opening from 3 April to 30 September 2026; the campsite is therefore closed in winter and no opening dates outside this period are published. The bar-restaurant only operates from June to September, from Tuesday evening to Sunday. A stay in October or later needs to be confirmed with the campsite.
The washroom block has 4 showers, 4 toilets, 3 basins, plus a shower and toilets for people with reduced mobility, with free hot water. A standard pitch is charged from 12.50 € per night, with electricity 5.90 € extra. The bar-bistro, called La Franquette du Longeau, serves traditional cooking using organic produce from the Meuse and Lorraine, in a 50-seat room or at the outdoor guinguette; breakfasts are by reservation. It also welcomes groups of 8 to 50 people and offers a brazier meal from 24.90 €. No pool is announced on site, and the ponds are not intended for swimming.
The two Longeau ponds face the campsite and are suited to fishing. On site, guests play pétanque and table tennis, and musical events take place at the guinguette at certain times. The site is the starting point for walking and riding trails, with viewpoints over the Woëvre, a plain of ponds visited by migratory birds. Deer, roe deer, hares and foxes are sometimes seen. In the surrounding area, the Hannonville ecomuseum, Saint-Mihiel, the orchards of the Côtes de Meuse and the Great War sites are mentioned: Les Éparges, the Douaumont ossuary, Forts Vaux and Douaumont and the Verdun Memorial.
Seasonal campsite: open from 3 April to 30 September 2026, closed in winter (dates to be confirmed with the campsite).
