The Chazey municipal campsite is located at 15 Allée de Chazey in Gueugnon, in Saône-et-Loire, on the banks of the Arroux. Unclassified, it is run by the local authorities and covers less than a hectare, partly shaded, with direct access to the river.
The site has about twenty pitches, including spaces equipped with water and electricity for motorhomes, and five rental units, from chalet to mobile home, with equipped kitchen, bathroom and terrace. A motorhome service point, of the Euro-Relais brand, is installed in the car park. A children’s play area, a TV lounge and fishing complete the offer; pets are accepted.
Opening period: online guides announce opening of the pitches from 1 July to 31 August, or from June to August depending on the source, with rentals possible all year round and the service area from May to October. This information dates from 2020. The campsite is therefore mainly a summer campsite: for any off-season arrival, confirm the dates with the Gueugnon town hall before booking.
The five rental units are equipped: kitchen with fridge, hobs and microwave, private bathroom and toilet, terrace and garden furniture. The motorhome pitches have water and electricity, and the service point in the car park is freely accessible.
No swimming pool or food service is consistently mentioned: access to the river serves as a place to relax in summer. Guests are welcomed in French and English.
The campsite offers fishing in the Arroux, a children’s play area and a TV lounge. It is a base for discovering Gueugnon and the Arroux valley, on foot or by bike along the river.
Outings and activities vary with the season: the simplest option is to ask at the Gueugnon town hall.
