Camping du Sevron is in Saint-Étienne-du-Bois, in the Ain department, on the D1083 linking Bourg-en-Bresse to Lons-le-Saunier. Set between the Revermont hills and the Bresse region, it runs alongside the small river that gives it its name. Bourg-en-Bresse is about fifteen minutes away by car, and both the A39 and the A6 are close, making it a handy stopover on the holiday route.
The site has 65 pitches separated by natural hedges and several rental units: two chalets with a private hot tub (sleeping 4 to 6 and 6 to 8), mobile homes of 17 to 31 m² sleeping 2 to 8 people, including small adjoining models for one or two people. The owners describe it as a family campsite with affordable prices, with a swimming pool, pedal karts and a trampoline for the children.
What makes it original is the opening period. The site announces year-round opening, reachable from 9am to 7pm, seven days a week, with a single closure: from 16 October to 2 November 2026, or eighteen days. The rental units can be booked by the night or by the week in low season, from 1 January to 1 July and from 1 September to 31 December, with heat pump heating. The campsite states that it welcomes holidaymakers as well as people travelling for work.
Seillon forest in Bourg-en-Bresse (600 ha of trails), Bouvent park free from October to April, Maison de Pays en Bresse opposite the campsite.
The campsite emphasises recent, well-equipped and affordable facilities. Each rental unit has a living area with a table, television and beds, a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a kitchenette with fridge, hobs, microwave, crockery and utensils. The chalets and several mobile homes are heated in winter and cooled in summer by a reversible heat pump, which makes off-season stays possible. Sheets can be rented for €8 a pair and towels for €2.50.
The two chalets stand out for their private hot tub on the terrace, which must be booked 24 hours in advance. The nightly price includes unlimited use of the hot tub, beds made on arrival, bath linen and a breakfast kit; extras such as rose petals or a bottle of champagne are available. A shared barbecue is available, and the campsite states that access is adapted for people with reduced mobility.
For pitches, a package covers the tent, one or two adults and a vehicle; the 10 A electrical hook-up is charged extra. A water refilling service is offered for motorhomes. Pets are accepted on presentation of their vaccination record, except for category 1 and 2 dogs. The pool, reserved for guests, is open from 10am to 8pm between June and September depending on the weather: it cannot therefore be used in winter.
On site, everything is designed with children in mind: pedal karts (paid, by the half hour), a trampoline, table tennis and the pool in season. Bikes can be rented by the half day or the day. The Sevron, a second-category river, runs alongside the site: you can fish for coarse fish, predatory fish, black bass and trout, with a fishing permit required.
A few steps away, the Maison de Pays en Bresse, opposite the campsite, is an open-air museum of Bresse rural heritage, with five buildings, a forest park and exhibitions on life in the past. The Parcours Aventure de la Bresse, 800 m away, offers 115 games spread over nine tree-top courses open from age 2, with more than 1,200 m of zip lines. Further afield, the Château de Rosy is among the recommended visits.
In Bourg-en-Bresse, about a quarter of an hour away, the Seillon state forest offers 600 hectares of trails for walking, mountain biking or horse riding, a fitness trail and an educational trail for families, freely accessible all year round. The Bouvent leisure park, with its 21 ha lake, is free from October to April. These forest walks remain the simplest outings outside the summer.
Open all year round, rental units and pitches; closed from 16 October to 2 November 2026; pool from June to September.
