Camping du Sonnay

Camping du Sonnay is located at 307 route du Sonnay in Sourcieux-les-Mines, in the Rhône department, about 25 km north-east of Lyon and very close to L’Arbresle (2 km). Rated 1 star, it covers 1.8 hectares in the countryside, with 25 pitches planted with cherry trees and panoramic views of the Monts du Lyonnais. The atmosphere is calm and friendly, for nature lovers.

The site is shaded and closed at night, with supervision day and night. It welcomes tents, caravans and motorhomes, and rents out caravans and mobile homes. Business travellers are also welcome, which suits work trips in the west of Lyon.

Opening period: the Monts du Lyonnais tourist office reports opening from 1 January to 31 December 2026, every day from 7am to 9pm, and specifies “open all year round”. The pitches have water and electricity hook-ups, and the site has a washing-up sink, a barbecue area, a pétanque court and private parking. The washrooms are heated, a comfort appreciated off-season.

For accommodation, the campsite rents mobile homes at €180 per week and a caravan at €150 per week. The published pitch rates are €5 per adult per day, €4 per child, €5 for a tent, caravan or motorhome, and €1 per day for a pet; dogs and cats are accepted for an extra charge. The tourist tax is not included.

The campsite is accessible to wheelchair users without assistance. Payment is by cash or cheque. No restaurant, grocery or swimming pool is mentioned on site: for shopping, the nearest option is L’Arbresle, 2 km away.

On site, the pétanque court and the barbecue area make it easy to spend the evening with fellow campers, in a calm countryside setting.

The campsite is above all a base for exploring around L’Arbresle and the Monts du Lyonnais, half an hour’s drive from the centre of Lyon. Walks in the surrounding countryside start directly from the site.
