Camping du Fouilloux

Camping du Fouilloux is a small family site in La Mothe-Saint-Héray, in the Deux-Sèvres. Saint-Maixent-l’École is about ten minutes away, Futuroscope about 40 minutes, the Marais poitevin less than an hour, Niort and Poitiers make good day trips, and the Atlantic coast is about an hour away. The owners, who are Dutch, describe a quiet, human-scale place.

You can choose between camping pitches and mobile homes. Published rates range from €15 a night for a hiker pitch to €22 for a comfort pitch, €18 without electricity, and from €80 to €85 a night for a mobile home. A seasonal pool with sun loungers and parasols, and a play area complete the facilities. Motorhomes can fill up with water on site, with the waste disposal point across the road.

Opening period: the official website publishes no dates. Booking platforms announce an opening from 30 April to 15 October 2026 (to be confirmed with the campsite). It is therefore a seasonal campsite, closed in winter. For a stay outside this period, you need to contact it on 07 66 49 63 81.

The washrooms are simple and well kept: toilets, showers, hot and cold water basins, a washing-up area and laundry sinks. The washing machine and dryer cost €5 per use. A bar with a shaded terrace serves cold drinks and coffee, and board games are freely available. The pool, described as calm and clear, is open in season only.

The campsite focuses on calm: swimming, reading and board games on site. In the surrounding area you can discover small villages, old churches and local markets, as well as walking and cycling trails along the Sèvre Niortaise, where you can also go canoeing. Families add outings to Futuroscope, to Niort (harbour, covered market) or to the Atlantic coast.
