Au Jardin de la Ferme is a small olive-growing property in Le Brusc, the harbour district of Six-Fours-les-Plages, in the Var. It has about 150 olive trees, olive oil sold on site, a farm campsite with around fifteen pitches and five rural gîtes for 2 to 7 people, plus a guest room. Le Brusc’s sandy beach is 400 m away, a walk, as are the harbour, the shops and the restaurants.
The place is quiet and unpretentious: no pool and no announced entertainment, but the feel of a family site at the foot of Cap Sicié, between sea and forest. No star rating is indicated. The pitches have electric hook-up posts, motorhomes are accepted, and bookings are made by stating the dates, the number of people and the type of equipment (tent, caravan, motorhome).
The website states that the site is open all year round, both the campsite and the gîtes. Pitches are offered at a 20% reduced rate from January to April and from October to December, and the gîtes list “other months” prices as well as last-minute nights. On the other hand, hot water is supplied only in the showers, with €1 coins, and the washroom block is not heated: this setting suits campers equipped for winter or holidaymakers renting a gîte.
Pets are accepted on the pitches, on a lead, except in July and August when they are not allowed.
Coastal path, walk to Notre-Dame du Mai on Cap Sicié, bike or horse rides, garrigue blossom in spring.
Comfort here is deliberately simple. The campsite’s washroom has paid hot showers that run on €1 coins, and it is not heated. A spot is provided for emptying chemical toilets, and motorhomes staying at least one night have a service area. Each pitch has access to an electric hook-up post, charged at €5 per day for a 6 A connection; the site also offers to freeze a bottle or an ice block for €1.
The accommodation is split between several gîtes: Les Lavandes, for 5 people with a private garden of over 60 m², Les Roses Rouges, a single-storey gîte rated by Gîtes de France for 4 people, and Les Mimosas, a detached house for 4 people. All have a fitted kitchen (dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, hob), a bathroom, garden furniture and private parking. Sheets, towels and cleaning can be hired as an option for stays of at least 7 days, and holiday vouchers are accepted. Pets are not allowed in the gîtes.
The website mentions no pool, snack bar or bar on the estate. The water is 400 m away: it is Le Brusc’s sandy beach, whose bathing water quality is highlighted by the site. The harbour has shops, restaurants and a post office, and fishermen sell their catch directly on the quayside.
The farm serves as a starting point for many outings on foot, by bike or on horseback. The coastal path runs along the coast, and a walk of about two hours leads to Notre-Dame du Mai, a 17th-century chapel perched at 350 m above sea level on the summit of Cap Sicié, which offers a 360° view over the Îles d’Or, Toulon and the Cassis coast. Marked cycling circuits cover the whole commune, and mountain biking is possible in the forest on tracks and paths.
From Le Brusc beach, you can reach the island of Embiez by canoe-kayak or paddleboard; the landing stage for the island is about 500 m away. On foot, the island of Gaou, 1.2 km away, suits fishing, diving and family walks, and the pre-Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame de Pépiole, 4 km away, dates from the 6th century. The mistral attracts windsurfers and wing foil fans, the commune having been ranked a 4-star watersports resort since 1998.
The website highlights the activities possible throughout the year. In spring the garrigue flora is particularly rich, a season well suited to walking, and Cap Sicié can be explored on foot or by bike all year round. Partners also offer diving, water skiing and parasailing in Six-Fours for the warmer season.
Campsite and gîtes open all year round; pitches at a reduced rate from January to April and from October to December.
