Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
Camping Le Tivoli is in Mende, the prefecture of Lozère, on the banks of the Lot and at the entrance to the Tarn gorges. At an altitude of about 700 m, it serves as a base for day trips between the Aubrac, the Margeride, the causses, Mont Lozère and the Cévennes. It is run by a couple, Frédéric and Nadia, and is rated 3 stars.
The site has around a hundred marked, shaded pitches with lit paths, as well as 18 mobile homes. The mobile homes available to rent come in five types, all for a maximum of 4 people, in models dating from 2000 to 2018. Dogs are not allowed in them. A shopping centre is about 1 km away.
The washroom blocks include 9 showers and 12 toilets, among other facilities, with one cubicle adapted for people with reduced mobility; the campsite is accessible to people with reduced mobility, except for the rental accommodation and the pool. Wi-Fi is free at reception, on the terrace and near the washrooms.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. The rental rates published for 2026 run from April 25 to September 12, and the campsite announces a closure on the morning of October 15. The spring reopening date is not published, and no winter offer is available. To find out the exact dates before or after this period, call 04 66 65 31 10.
The facilities are those of a medium-sized family campsite. The washrooms have hot water at the sinks, the dishwashing basins and the showers, and a washing machine is available. A motorhome service area, a barbecue area, a playground and a table tennis table complete the offer.
The heated pool is open only from June 1 to August 31, from 10am to 7pm, and men are required to wear swim briefs. It is not accessible to people with reduced mobility. Outside these dates, reception keeps reduced hours, from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm, and a booking does not entitle you to arrive outside these times.
On site, there is mainly a playground, table tennis and walking paths. Around Mende, the town offers its cathedral and old town, and the surrounding area opens onto very different landscapes: the Tarn gorges, where you can paddle down the river by canoe, the Causse Méjean, Mont Lozère with its granite, and Cévennes castles such as the one at Saint-Germain-de-Calberte. The campsite does not specify exact distances. Its website also mentions the trucs of the Bondons, granite cairns on Mont Lozère.
Seasonal campsite: rentals announced from April 25 to September 12, 2026, closing on October 15; reopening date not published, to be confirmed with the campsite.
