The municipal campsite La Forêt is in Saint-Pierre-de-Trivisy, a village in the Monts de Lacaune in the Tarn, at an altitude of 620 metres and 150 metres from the centre. Albi and Castres are about 45 minutes by road, the Sidobre 30 minutes and Toulouse two hours. The site is part of the La Forêt leisure area, on the edge of the municipal forest.
Rated 3 stars, it has fifteen shaded pitches separated by hedges, furnished canvas bungalows (Maasaï, Lodge and Pagan, for one to five occupants) and fifteen 30 m² wooden chalets renovated in 2019: two models for four people and thirteen for five, with a covered terrace. One chalet and one pitch near the washrooms are adapted for guests with reduced mobility. The site is hilly, which sometimes calls for the help of a companion when getting around.
As for opening, the calendar published by the municipality distinguishes two periods: the equipped chalets can be rented from 1 January to 31 December, while the pitches and canvas bungalows operate only from 1 May to 30 September. The chalets have electric heating and a fitted kitchen, which makes it possible to stay off-season. The campsite also welcomes groups, companies, clubs and associations.
Gym all year round, wellness centre from September to June from Friday to Monday, forest hikes, mountain biking and monthly fish stocking at the lake.
Each chalet has a kitchen area with an induction hob, a multifunction oven, a dishwasher, a fridge with freezer compartment and crockery, a shower room, a living room with bench seating and a covered terrace with garden furniture and outdoor lighting. The four-person models have a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with two single beds. An inventory is checked on arrival and departure, and units must be handed back before 10am. Only one pet is accepted per rental.
The shared washrooms have, outside, sinks, washbasins and a laundry tub; inside, washbasins, toilets, individual shower cubicles, a baby-changing table, children’s toilets, as well as washing machines and tumble dryers. Pitches have a 16-amp hook-up, and a 25-metre extension lead should be brought. Motorhomes will find the nearest service points at Rayssac (9 km), Montroc (11 km) and Vabre (12 km).
The neighbouring leisure area completes the offer. The Aquamonts water park (swimming pool with waterfall, four-lane water slide, 50-metre slide, paddling pool) is open from 1 July to 31 August, from 1pm to 7pm. The wellness centre, with hammam, sauna, jacuzzi and counter-current pool, is booked in one-hour slots, from Friday to Monday from September to June and every day in summer. The gym is open all year round, and the beauty salon is open on certain days from October to May. For food, there is a restaurant in the village, and a beach hut in the leisure area serves snacks and ice cream at weekends in June and September, then every day in July and August.
The leisure area concentrates most of the entertainment: tennis, mini-golf, a volleyball court, a fitness trail, pétanque courts, table-tennis tables, a covered multi-activity hall and a playground for children. A picnic area equipped with barbecues is freely accessible, as is the biodiversity space set up in a former water tower, where stuffed animals and plants are displayed with educational panels.
The municipal forest offers hiking trails, and the tourist office provides mountain-bike routes between 500 and 900 metres altitude as well as cycling routes, including the Albigeoise over 155 km. The Broussonnié lake welcomes anglers, with fish stocked every month, and the first-category rivers in the area attract trout fishermen. In the surrounding area, you can go horse riding, notably at the Razisse lake riding farm ten minutes away, climb and try via ferrata with Acroroc, or paddle down the river by canoe from Burlats.
Off-season, the gym, the wellness centre, the trails, mountain biking and forest paths remain accessible, as do trips to Albi, Castres or the Sidobre. The chalets make it possible to enjoy the Tarn mountains in peace, outside the summer months.
Chalets open from 1 January to 31 December; pitches and canvas bungalows from 1 May to 30 September.
