Camping des Bondons occupies a former millstone quarry in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, in Seine-et-Marne, within a forested area of about twenty hectares: roughly half is wooded and the other half laid out as a campsite. The town centre is 2 km away and the station 3 km; Disneyland Paris, Coulommiers and Meaux are 25 minutes by road, Paris and Reims about an hour.
The grounds have 247 pitches and 26 rental units: mobile homes with one or two bedrooms and cottages with two or three bedrooms. It welcomes second-home owners, weekend visitors and holidaymakers, in an atmosphere described as quiet and friendly. Pets are welcome and an overnight stopover service is mentioned.
As for opening, the rentals operate all year round. The Pays de Brie tourist office publishes rates from 1 January (mobile home from 71 to 113 € per night for two adults until 16 March 2025), and the campsite offers packages for business trips throughout the year: four nights from 232 € in a one-bedroom mobile home, or a monthly package with water and electricity included, for a minimum of two months. Bare pitches, however, are priced from 17 March; the price lists consulted give no end date for the season.
The Marne flows close by and is good for fishing as well as walks along the banks.
Jouarre abbey shop open all year round, champagne producers by appointment, forest walks and fishing on the Marne.
The basic facilities suit a stay in nature: water and electricity hook-ups on the pitches, a children’s play area, a boules court, a mail point, tourist information and bed linen hire. A paid laundry is available, and a bar is advertised on site. A restaurant is also mentioned, with no precise opening hours; it is best to check before counting on it in winter.
Among the rentals, the range goes from the one-bedroom mobile home to the three-bedroom cottage. The nightly rate includes two adults, with 8 € per additional adult and 4 € per child, plus a tourist tax of 0.65 € per night per adult; these amounts come from the 2025 price list. For pitches, the 2025 price list runs from 10 to 14 € per night depending on the period, with 3 € per additional adult, 1 € per child and 2 € for a leisure vehicle. The official website gives no details on heating in the accommodation.
A swimming pool, an indoor pool and a wellness area are sometimes mentioned, without it being clear whether they are within the campsite grounds: it is best to ask at reception. Shopping is done in town, where a supermarket and a grocery shop are mentioned near La Ferté-sous-Jouarre.
On site, you can enjoy the play area, the boules court and above all the ten hectares of woodland surrounding the pitches, ideal for walks. The nearby banks of the Marne attract anglers.
Within a two-kilometre radius, there is a hiking trailhead 500 m away, a riding centre at 1 km, a kayak base at 1.5 km, a tree-climbing course that partners with the campsite and a lake at 2 km. Golf is also among the leisure options in the area. On the Marne, the tourist office recommends discovering the river aboard a sightseeing boat.
Sightseeing is concentrated around Jouarre: the shop of Notre-Dame abbey, at the foot of the Romanesque tower, sells monastery crafts and local produce; it is open all year round, with hours that vary from day to day. The shop in Sammeron offers fruit and vegetables from the Les Signets farm, fresh milk and Brie products, and the champagne producers in the area, such as the Bombart house in Saâcy-sur-Marne, receive visitors by appointment.
In the off-season, these places stay open, as do the forest trails. Disneyland Paris is 25 minutes away by road for a family outing.
Rentals (mobile homes and cottages) open all year round; pitches priced from 17 March.
