Camping Le Jardin is in Lacaze, in the Tarn, in the uplands of the Monts de Lacaune, along the Gijou, a first-category river classified as Natura 2000 where brown trout reproduce naturally. The village has held the Petite Cité de Caractère label since 2018; its château, listed as a historic monument, is a three-minute walk away. Lacaune is 25 minutes by car, Castres 45 minutes and Albi 50 minutes.
Run by a family, the site is small: just 21 units, namely 11 bare pitches of 70 m² with water and electricity points, five canvas bungalows of 20 m² (1 to 5 people), three chalets of 27 m² for 4 people and two chalets of 35 m² for 6 people. The washrooms are accessible to guests with reduced mobility, and wifi covers the whole campsite.
Opening period: the campsite’s website publishes no opening or closing dates. It only states that the 2026 high season runs from 4 July to 31 August, that low season corresponds to the rest of the opening period, and that the pool operates from June to September. Tourist websites give contradictory information, from year-round opening to a season from late March to mid-October. Off-season opening is therefore to be confirmed with the campsite before any booking, on 07 67 88 93 15.
The outdoor pool measures 12 m by 2.50 m and is surrounded by sun loungers; it is open from early June to the end of September. Use of the pool, play area, petanque court, table tennis, motorhome service point and washrooms is included in the nightly price, as is wifi. Electricity is charged at 3 euros per night on pitches, and pets, three at most, cost 3 euros per night.
At the campsite entrance, the Le Fief restaurant serves homemade American cuisine based on local produce: burgers, aged meats, fried chicken, fish and chips, a children’s menu and desserts. Its bar has darts and board games. Hours vary by season and should be checked with the restaurant. The village grocery is a few minutes’ walk away, and reception is open every day from 9am to 7pm. The canvas bungalows have a fridge and a gas hob.
The Gijou flows at the end of the site and offers trout fishing, subject to regulations that the campsite details on its website. For children, the play area, the football goals by the river, the table tennis table (rackets at reception) and the petanque area are enough to fill the days.
Ten hiking routes start from the village, from the Saut de la Truite to the Pic de Montalet, and the same paths can be ridden by mountain bike. The Château de Lacaze houses a library, a cinema room and artist residencies. The Sidobre, Castres and Albi can be visited in under an hour; the campsite’s blog also suggests outing ideas for rainy days.
Opening dates not published: to be confirmed with the campsite. 2026 high season announced from 4 July to 31 August, pool from June to September.
