Le Camping de Tautavel is in Tautavel, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, on the route d’Estagel, less than a five-minute walk from the village shops. It is run by a Catalan family and has only 24 pitches, giving it the feel of a small charming campsite with a view of the Torre del Far. It is rated 3 stars and is a member of the national outdoor hospitality federation and of the departmental network Campings 66.
The Prehistory Museum is about 1 km away, the Gouleyrous gorges 2.5 km, the EcoZonia wildlife park 12 km, the Galamus gorges 27 km and the Mediterranean half an hour by car. For accommodation, there are air-conditioned mobile homes with two or three bedrooms, a studio chalet for one or two people, two furnished canvas lodges and pitches for tents, vans, caravans and motorhomes. Pets are accepted, vaccinated and on a lead.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. The published 2026 calendar distinguishes a low season from March to 26 June and from 29 August to 1 November, and a high season from 27 June to 28 August. No opening is announced from November to February. The pool is open only from April to October. For a stay outside these dates, contact the campsite on 09 67 30 04 15.

The communal barbecue is accessible from 11am to 9:30pm, with charcoal sold on site. A self-service laundry offers a coin-operated 10 kg washing machine, at 5 euros per token, detergent included. The washrooms include a cubicle adapted for guests with reduced mobility, and wifi is free at reception. Parking is free, and an electric vehicle charging point is less than five minutes’ walk away. Reception is open every day from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm, with arrivals possible until 9pm on Fridays on request.
On site, a petanque court is available. On foot from the campsite, you can reach in a few minutes the climbing cliffs (Tautavel and Vingrau topos on sale at reception), walking, horse-riding and cycling trails, a play area with a zip line four minutes away, a fitness area, a health trail and freely accessible basketball, football and rugby pitches. River fishing is possible, and the big night market on summer Wednesdays brings the village to life.
