Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
Camping La Rode is in Rocles, in Lozère, about 5 km from Langogne and 3 km from Lake Naussac. It is rated 2 stars and occupies a wooded site at around 1,100 m above sea level, in the heart of nature. It is run by Ludovic Brunel and his team, and promotes a calm, family atmosphere.
The site is small: it has about twenty spacious pitches, including 7 rental accommodations. These include five mobile homes for 4 to 5 people, with a terrace and equipped kitchen, offered at €50 to €84 a night depending on the model and the period, as well as unusual accommodation of the Coco Sweet type, presented as something new. Sheets and bed linen are not provided. Tattooed pets kept on a lead are accepted.
On site there is a children’s playground, a petanque court, a games room, washrooms with hot water, a coin-operated laundry and a reception suited to people with disabilities. A bread delivery service runs every morning in summer.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite, open continuously from May 1 to September 30. It is closed for the rest of the year. The website only mentions the possibility of a seasonal pitch and of winter caravan storage, on request: this does not amount to accepting holidaymakers in winter. Contact: 04 66 69 50 18 or 06 79 65 33 97.
The facilities remain simple, in keeping with a campsite of twenty pitches. The washrooms provide hot water and electric sockets, a coin-operated laundry is available and a games room complements the outdoor playground. Bread is delivered every morning during the summer. The mobile homes have an oven, a four-burner hob, a microwave and a fridge-freezer; one of them is air-conditioned. Payment is by cheque or cash only.
On site, the petanque court and the playground fill the days. Lake Naussac, about 3 km away, is the main leisure spot: supervised swimming in summer, paddleboarding, pedal boats, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, catamaran sailing and fishing, with two water sports centres. Walkers have more than 250 km of waymarked paths, including the GR 4 and the Stevenson Trail (GR 70), which passes through Langogne. In the surrounding area you can go mountain biking, play golf 4 km away, go horse riding, ride a rail bike at Pradelles and try tree-top adventure courses, as well as rafting, canoeing and canyoning on the Allier. Heritage sights include the town of Langogne, Château de Luc, the Calquières spinning mill and the museum of sacred art.
Seasonal campsite: open from May 1 to September 30, closed for the rest of the year (winter caravan storage and seasonal pitch on request).
