Estefana is a small family campsite at the hamlet of Les Meynards in Chambilly, in Saône-et-Loire, in southern Burgundy. The grounds spread over several hilly terraces, with views of the countryside and of a meadow where sheep graze. The aim is a quiet, human-scale place where the family who run it welcome visitors in person.
The campsite has 15 pitches of roughly 80 to 180 m², all pedestrian: the car is used only for loading and unloading. Pitches 1 to 4 suit folding campers, vans and caravans up to 5.5 m; pitches 5 to 8, on firmer ground, take motorhomes and caravans up to 8 m; pitches 9 to 15, reached on foot or by bike, are reserved for tents. A specific field is offered to touring cyclists, and the campsite highlights its welcome for travellers by bike. Marcigny, with its shops and Monday market, is 4 km away.
On site there is a bar with a terrace, a table d’hôtes, a swimming pool and a wooden play area for children.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite, announced from 28 May to 11 October 2026. It is closed for the rest of the year, winter included. The address also offers two guest rooms, announced as open all year round; they are a separate activity from the campsite and are not an off-season camping offer. For any question about the dates, the campsite can be reached on 06 37 64 25 58.
The facilities are those of a small seasonal site, designed for comfort rather than volume. The washrooms, described as clean, include large walk-in showers. Electricity is connected on request, for an extra charge, and a fridge can be provided. A luggage trolley helps to reach the tent pitches, set away from the cars. Caravan waste water follows a particular rule: the green liquid may be emptied at the designated spot, but not the blue liquid.
Bar Bizarre serves local or organic drinks, ice cream and sweets, and its terrace is a meeting point. Several times a week, the table d’hôtes prepares a three-course menu, tapas, homemade pizzas or a simpler meal, to be booked the day before. Fresh bread can be ordered at the bar for the next day, with days without delivery in the off-season and in July and August. A swimming pool for the summer period and the lounge room complete the picture.
The campsite is aimed first of all at cyclists and walkers. It is about 4 km from the Véloire, a 140 km route between Montrond-les-Bains and Paray-le-Monial, and from the Voie Verte that passes near Marcigny, flat and tarmacked on a former railway line. Waymarked circuits of 6 to 45 km, including for mountain biking, are indicated in the surrounding area, and more than 80 walking routes are described around Marcigny.
On site, children have a wooden play castle with a slide and climbing wall, a football pitch and a small flock of Solognote sheep. A lounge room offers table tennis on rainy days. Nearby, the Loire can be paddled by canoe or kayak, the Lespinasse-Vivans forest and the Mont Rigaud viewpoint offer walks, and the Chemins du Roman link churches and abbeys across the region. Marcigny holds its market on Monday morning. For family outings, the Le Pal theme park and zoo and the Saint-Bonnet-des-Quarts climbing forest are among the places mentioned. The opening season, from 28 May to 11 October 2026, covers late spring, summer and early autumn.
Seasonal campsite: open from 28 May to 11 October 2026, closed in winter. The two guest rooms at the same address, separate from the campsite, are announced as open all year round.
