Camping Del Ron is located in the hamlet of Blajoux, between Quézac and Sainte-Enimie, in the Gorges du Tarn, on the edge of the Cévennes National Park. It is rated 3 stars and covers almost 4 hectares of woodland on the riverbank, at an altitude of 510 m. The villages of Castelbouc, Quézac and Sainte-Enimie, one of the most beautiful villages in France, are 1 to 6 km away, and the Gorges and Tarn Valley trail (GR 736) passes less than 1 km away.
The site offers 50 pitches of 100 to 200 m², all with electricity, four mobile homes and seven wooden chalets. The atmosphere is family-friendly, with fruit trees, a pebble beach on the Tarn where you can fish, and wildlife the owners like to mention: birds, squirrels, blue-headed lizards, and sometimes beavers and herons near the water.
Opening varies with the type of accommodation. The detached wooden chalets, with private bathrooms, are rented all year round, which makes an off-season stay in the heart of the gorges possible. The mobile homes are open from early May to mid-September and the pitches from mid-June to around mid-September, the exact date changing from year to year. The swimming pool only operates in July and August.
The campsite accepts pets, and French and English are spoken.
The campsite focuses on practical facilities rather than a wide range of leisure activities. For food, it offers snacks on site or to take away, with homemade pizzas in July and August, as well as a bar. A bread service, a small grocery shop and an ice depot complete the offer for everyday shopping. A laundry and free wifi are available to guests, and baby cots are lent out.
The mobile homes and chalets have private bathrooms, which remains an advantage on a stay outside summer. All pitches have an electrical hook-up. A service area for motorhomes and dedicated parking are provided, with daily rates of 25 to 28 euros for two people, pitch and car included, and 29 to 32 euros with a motorhome; a pet costs 1 euro per day on a bare pitch, and the tourist tax is 0.60 euro.
For swimming, there are two options: the private in-ground outdoor pool, open only in July and August, and the river, which you can enjoy from the campsite’s beach. A tennis court, a mini-golf course, a table tennis table and a children’s play area are on site. Payment is by cash, bank card, cheque or holiday vouchers. The opening dates of the pitches and mobile homes should be confirmed by phone before booking.
The river is the star activity: canoe hire lets you paddle down the Tarn through the gorges, and anglers cast their lines from the campsite’s beach. On site, you can play tennis, mini-golf or table tennis, and children have a play area.
Around the campsite, the Gorges and Tarn Valley trail (GR 736) starts less than 1 km away, and a mountain bike route of the Grande Traversée du Massif central passes less than 1 km away. The surroundings are also suited to canyoning, via ferrata, paragliding, bungee jumping, hiking and horse riding. Sainte-Enimie, Quézac, Castelbouc and the Château de Prades can be visited a few kilometres away, and you can watch the campsite’s wildlife while strolling under the fruit trees.
The natural sites of the Cévennes National Park and the neighbouring causse can be explored on foot or by car throughout the year. Outside summer, the pool and the seasonal food service are closed: chalet stays centre mostly on walking, the GR 736 and visits to the neighbouring villages.
Chalets open all year round; mobile homes from early May to mid-September; pitches from mid-June to mid-September.
