Overview

Domaine Saône-Valley covers more than 5 hectares in Traves, a commune in Haute-Saône, in the Val de Saône. The site borders both the river and a private lake; the estate’s restaurant describes itself as close to Vesoul. It describes itself as a residential leisure park and, for holidaymakers, works as an estate of chalets to rent rather than a tent campsite: the site does not offer bare pitches.

Ten accommodations can be booked: a 37 m² lodge for 6 people, four 30 m² chalets on the Saône bank for 4 people, 35 m² chalets with a Saône view for 6 people, and a chalet number 9 described as suitable for people with reduced mobility. All are equipped with a kitchen and a terrace or garden furniture, and the listings mention central heating. The estate is closed at night and accepts pets, for €5 per night per animal.

As for opening, the estate says it welcomes guests all year round. Its long-stay offers also cover the late season and winter: discounts from 21 January to 31 March and from 28 September to 30 November, then reductions in April and September. No closure period is announced; the exact winter dates should therefore be confirmed with the estate before booking.

The atmosphere is aimed at calm by the water: fishing, boat trips, spa and sauna, with a bar-restaurant on site that is also open all year round.

The estate has an on-site bar-restaurant, L’Évasion, serving traditional home-cooked food with a view over the Saône. It says it is open all year round, with a winter menu; the restaurant is closed on Mondays and serves lunch from Tuesday to Sunday, plus dinner on Fridays. Breakfast must be booked the day before by 6pm for €9.50 per person. A function room for 80 people, equipped with a kitchen and a bar, can be hired for parties or meetings.

Accommodations come with bed linen, a fully equipped kitchen (hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine), free wifi and a barbecue. The chalets have central heating, which makes winter stays possible; some listings also mention a pellet stove. A washing machine (chargeable) and a tumble dryer are available, as well as bath towel hire (€8 per person) and a cleaning option at €65 per accommodation. Electric vehicles are charged from a household socket, with a daily flat rate.

For water and relaxation, the estate has a private lake and a wellness area with a private spa and sauna for four people, open to residents and passing visitors alike, by reservation. It operates from 9am to 10pm until 1 September, then from 9am to 8pm from 2 September to 31 December 2026. There is no swimming pool: bathing is limited to the spa.

Water is the main activity. Pedalos, canoes, rowing boats and paddleboards can be hired for half an hour (€8), one hour (€10), two hours (€14), half a day (€20) or a full day (€30), life jackets included, with a €300 deposit. Chalet guests enjoy included water activities, weather permitting. Licence-free boats for up to five people can be hired for 2 hours (€45), 4 hours (€80) or 8 hours (€130), excluding fuel charged at €9 per hour, with a €1,000 deposit and return before 6pm.

On land, the estate offers mini-golf, with one round per person included during the stay, a pétanque court, a children’s play area, bike hire and fishing in the lake and the river. Moorings are available for boaters arriving via the Saône.

The estate also schedules outdoor dinner-concert evenings, for example a Pink Floyd tribute evening on 5 July and a Celtic rock concert on 30 August 2026, with the function room as a fallback in bad weather. Off-season, the programme relies mainly on the spa and sauna, open until the end of December, on the restaurant and on walks around the river; the site does not detail any winter entertainment.
