The Domaine des Canebières, also known as Les Canebières, is located on the route de Sainte-Maxime in Le Muy, in the Var. It covers 277 hectares of the Massif des Maures and has 771 plots. It has existed since 1967. The nearest beaches are less than 20 minutes away.
It is not a conventional campsite: the official website describes it as a residential leisure park with a secure entrance, made up of second homes in light leisure dwellings. The estate is managed by a property holding company, whose occupants are partners who buy a share granting them use of a plot. Access to the estate and its activities is stated to be strictly reserved for owners and rights holders.
The estate has two supervised swimming pools, three tennis and pickleball courts, a boules court, a sports area, a mountain bike course, an archery range and a play area for children aged about 2 to 7. A bistro and a grocery shop serve residents and their guests.
Opening period: no tourist opening date is published. The rules prohibit living there year-round, but the boules court and the play area remain accessible all year round. A passing holidaymaker cannot count on it: whether stays by people other than owners are accepted must be confirmed directly with the estate, on 04 94 45 07 46.
The services are aimed first and foremost at residents of the estate. The Bistrot des Canebières is open to residents and their guests, with music evenings by reservation. A grocery shop offers bread, pastries and basic products. A mail room handles mail and parcels, and a reception desk takes requests from occupants, on 04 94 45 07 46. The restaurant is run by professional restaurateurs, and the bistro publishes its opening hours on site and on its Facebook page.
Two swimming pools are located on the estate, each supervised by a lifeguard, with sun loungers, a snack bar and washrooms nearby. The large pool, at most 1.80 m deep, closes on 1 October and stays closed on Mondays in September. The small pool, 0.70 to 2.20 m deep, closes every year from 1 September. These facilities are therefore summer-only.
The estate specifies that access to these services is reserved for owners, their rights holders and their guests: a holidaymaker with no connection to a partner should not count on them without prior agreement.
The estate offers a wide range of activities on site. Three courts are used for tennis and pickleball, with registration the day before at reception in July and August. The sports area allows beach volleyball, basketball and handball, and the boules court hosts internal tournaments on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, open all year round. A ping-pong table is set up near each pool.
For the youngest, the play area on the Peynier hill is intended for children of about 2 to 7. Archery takes place on Tuesday and Friday mornings, from age 12, and a mountain bike descent is offered on Wednesday mornings, with bike and protective gear rental. Early-years motor skills classes are held at the large pool in July and August.
The forested Maures massif provides a setting for walks, and a library run by volunteers opens on Tuesday afternoons. All these activities are part of the estate’s internal life.
Opening dates not published: private estate reserved for owners and rights holders, reception of holidaymakers to be confirmed with the estate.
