The Village Vacances et Pêche is in Villiers-Charlemagne, in southern Mayenne. The village, with about 1,050 inhabitants, is 600 m away along a dirt track and has a grocery, butcher, post office, bar-restaurant, garage and hairdresser; Meslay-du-Maine, Château-Gontier and Laval are a few kilometres away.
The site is arranged around a 7-hectare lake dedicated to fishing, with the chalets lined up at its edge and a second 4,000 m² pond alongside. It offers 20 pitches of 100 m², four Amazone tents for 4 people, two Bivouac tents on stilts, twelve wooden chalets of 48 to 56 m² for 4 to 7 people, six of them right on the water, and two 36 m² studios, bookable from 1 August 2026. A motorhome area with a full service point completes the offer. The campsite is rated 3 stars.
As for opening, the site describes itself as open all year round, as confirmed for 2026 by the Mayenne tourism portal and the Pays de la Loire one. No annual closure is listed, and both accommodation and pitches can be booked in winter. The place is aimed at anglers, but also at families and cyclists on a stopover.
The site is set up for night fishing, with a private fishing area in front of each chalet.
Fishing on the 7-hectare lake and a cycling stopover on the Vélofrancette; no winter entertainment is announced.
Each of the 20 pitches has its own private washroom block accessible to people with disabilities (shower, basin, toilet), plus a storage room with a sink and a fridge. The Amazone tents have a kitchen area with a fridge, hotplate, microwave and coffee machine, a washroom corner, a barbecue and garden furniture. The Bivouac tents, rented by the night, give access to a washroom and a neighbouring room with a kettle, coffee machine, hotplates and fridge, large enough to store bikes.
The chalets have a living room with a kitchenette (mini oven, microwave), a sofa bed, a shower room, a separate toilet, two bedrooms, a television, a terrace and a barbecue; some have a drawbridge for fishing from the terrace. The chalet Le Vairon meets accessibility standards for people with reduced mobility, with its secure fishing jetty. Sheets can be rented, bikes are lent out, and pets are accepted on presentation of a vaccination certificate, subject to certain breeds.
The motorhome service area has a 6 m by 4 m slab, a drain grate, a tap for black water and a drinking water tap; a night’s parking costs €5. There is no swimming pool or food service at the campsite: the shops are in the village, 600 m away.
Fishing remains the central activity. The Erveux lake, at the foot of the village, holds carp, with night fishing reserved for residents and practised catch-and-release, coarse fish such as roach and bream, and predators, mainly zander and perch, plus a few pike. The site has a secure bank, a fishing spot accessible to people with reduced mobility and a shelter, and a set of fishing rules is provided.
The Village Vacances et Pêche is also a stopover for Vélofrancette cyclists: the two Bivouac tents are intended for them, and the campsite lends bikes. Children have a play area above the chalet village, next to the pitches. Badminton, basketball, pétanque, table tennis and volleyball facilities are also mentioned, though the official website does not describe them.
The river Mayenne flows about 4 km away, and Château-Gontier, Meslay-du-Maine and Laval make day trips possible. The official website gives no off-season activity programme.
