Les Bles d’Or

The municipal campsite Les Blés d’Or is in Grand’Landes, a village of about 725 inhabitants in the north-east of the Vendée, on the border with the Loire-Atlantique and in the canton of Challans. The address is 10 rue de la Piscine. According to the departmental listing, the Puy du Fou is 55 km away and the beaches about 25 minutes by car.

The site is run by the commune. It has 20 pitches separated by hedges, reserved for tents, caravans and motorhomes. It has no star rating. A children’s play area, a city park and a fitness trail are nearby, and the campsite lies on the route of the departmental cycle paths.

Opening period: no opening date is published either by the town hall or by the tourism sites consulted. A high-season rate is advertised from May 1 to September 30, and an off-season rate exists for the period from October 1 to April 30, but this does not prove that holidaymakers are welcome in winter. Off-season opening therefore needs to be confirmed with the town hall before planning a stay.

The facilities are those of a small municipal site: a secure sanitary block, a laundry room and a children’s play area nearby. Pitches can be fitted with an electrical hook-up, charged as an extra depending on the season. A recycling bin for glass and paper is located at the campsite. In the village, a municipal grocery provides basic supplies; bread comes from a bakery in Saint-Étienne-du-Bois. Hours should be requested from the town hall. Pets are accepted according to the departmental listing.

Right nearby, the village has a city park, a fitness trail, a picnic area and the Grand’Landes lake park, about a hundred metres away. A pétanque court is mentioned among the facilities. The departmental cycle paths pass close to the site, and hiking trails are signposted by the commune. The Puy du Fou is 55 km away and the Vendée coast about 25 minutes by car.
