La Résidence du Lac is located at 3 chemin de la Source in Maché, in the Vendée, close to Lac d’Apremont, a reservoir of 3.8 million m³ popular with anglers. The 3-star campsite lies between Challans and Aizenay, not far from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, and presents itself as a quiet countryside site. It has 125 pitches.
The rental offer includes chalets and mobile homes of 28 to 40 m² for 4 to 6 people, including a version adapted for guests with reduced mobility, equipped with a bathroom with shower, a cooker, a fridge and a microwave. On site there is a 120 m² heated pool, a themed bar-restaurant, a multisport court, a petanque court, table tennis tables and a playground.
Opening period: the official website publishes neither opening dates nor prices. Its footer and several pages of the site refer to a residential campsite open all year round, which mainly means accommodating residents who live there permanently. An old online listing from 2018 gave an opening from 1 January to 31 December, but this information is not recent. The site also mentions stays “of a weekend or a month” without specifying the season: whether holidaymakers passing through are welcome in winter remains to be confirmed on 02 51 55 20 30 (phone reception Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm).
The campsite provides parking, wifi, washing machines and tumble dryers, as well as a bar with cold drinks and ice creams. The themed restaurant serves mussels and chips, paella and crêpes, among other dishes, and themed evenings are held there. A baby kit can be booked. Pets are accepted, on a lead and never left alone, except in the bar and the restaurant. A shared barbecue is available to renters. The 120 m² heated pool is the main water facility; its opening dates are not published.
On site, the campsite offers a children’s playground with a swing and a slide, a pool table, a table football, table tennis tables, a petanque court and a 10 × 20 m multisport court for football, handball and basketball. A tennis court is nearby. Bingo and board games round out the entertainment, and swimming lessons are held in July and August at the municipal pool. Around the campsite, fishing on Lac d’Apremont, walks, rail-bike rides along the 10 kilometres of railway line between Commequiers and Coëx, the Puy du Fou and the Île d’Yeu are mentioned among the outings.
